Pictures of the Mississippi River boat rides, trolley ride, and Beale Street. It was an awesome day spent with great friends! Pictures taken on the trolley and on Beale street are by Amy.
If you build it they will come. This stadium was built near the river front before the town even had a team. When the team did come, it only lasted a couple of years and now the stadium sits empty waiting for a buyer. Huge statue of Ramesses the Great guards the Pyramid.
One of the trolley cars that looped around the river front. I wish it would have been a "tour" trolley, as in having a tour guide pointing out the different things along the way. Luckily there were a few riders on board that new where to look and what we were looking for. Such as the hotel where Martin Luther King was killed.
The ticket & gift shop was in the first boat, we rode on the second boat. Notice the old cobblestones that line the dock. They were brought over by English ships from Ireland used for balancing the ships then thrown on the shore later to be picked up by the Steamboats to keep the riverbank from being so muddy where they unloaded their boats.
Bradley, Larry, Me & Amy sitting on deck of the Mississippi Queen, enjoying the sunshine and the view!
The four of us after breakfast, standing by the sweet cadillac rental car!
The Orpheum Theater where the auditions for "So You Think You Can Dance" were being held. We got to see one of the dancers that gets to advance to Las Vegas come running out waving his ticket, and another dancer that didn't make the cut was giving his farewell to the camera.
Riding the Trolley. The trolley only costs $1.00. The locals use it as a means of transportation. It loops around the river front and some of the older downtown business districts.
